How to do it
Anchor a light resistance band at waist height to your side.
Hold the band in your lead hand with your arm extended out in front of you.
Slowly raise and rotate the arm up and across your body as if starting a backswing, keeping it straight.
Lower with control and repeat, then switch to the other arm for balance.
Goal
Increase the shoulder mobility and strength needed to keep the lead arm long without straining.
Feel cue
Feel the stretch and light effort across your lead shoulder as your arm extends and rotates.
Mistake to avoid
Using a band with too much resistance, which causes the arm to bend to compensate.
