How to do it
Set a sturdy chair just outside your lead hip at address.
Make slow practice swings focused only on the finish position.
Let your lead hip pocket brush the chair back as you finish.
Keep your upper body tall and stacked instead of leaning back to reach it.
Repeat for 10 reps, resetting between each one.
Goal
Teach the hips to slide and rotate all the way to the target instead of leaving the spine to arch backward to compensate.
Feel cue
Feel your lead hip pocket bump gently into the chair as you finish.
Mistake to avoid
Leaning your upper body back to reach the chair with your hip instead of rotating your hips forward — leaning back is the back-strain habit this drill is meant to remove.
