Eyes-Closed Finish Commit

Take a few practice swings with your eyes closed, focusing only on finishing tall and balanced without watching a result.

Duration
4 min
Reps
10 swings
Equipment

Level
Intermediate

How to do it

  1. Take your normal setup, either with or without a ball.

  2. Close your eyes before you start the swing.

  3. Swing to a complete, balanced finish without opening your eyes.

  4. Hold the finish for 2 full seconds before you look.

  5. Repeat for 10 swings.

Goal

Remove the urge to steer by taking away the visual feedback that triggers it.

Feel cue

Feel the swing complete itself into a tall finish without your eyes pulling you toward the target.

Mistake to avoid

Peeking early to check the result instead of trusting the finish — peeking is the exact steering impulse this drill is designed to remove, so keep the eyes closed until you're fully balanced.
