How to do it
Hold an alignment stick across your shoulders like a yoke, in your golf posture.
Rotate into a backswing, keeping the stick's tilt matching your original spine angle.
Watch in a mirror or on video for the stick tilting up steeply, which signals a lift instead of a turn.
Repeat until the rotation feels level with your posture, then rehearse without the stick.
Goal
Encourage the shoulders to rotate around the spine angle instead of tilting up into a steep backswing.
Feel cue
Feel the stick stay level with the ground as it turns, rather than pointing up at the sky.
Mistake to avoid
Keeping the shoulders level to the ground like a driver swing when your spine is already tilted forward.
