How to do it
Take your address position with a mid-iron.
Start the backswing by turning your chest, keeping your arm swing slow and relaxed.
Continue turning until your lead shoulder is under your chin, whatever your arms are doing.
Pause at the top to feel the position, then swing through normally.
Goal
Replace an arm-lift backswing with a body turn that actually moves the shoulders and stores power.
Feel cue
Feel your chest do the work - your arms are just passengers along for the turn.
Mistake to avoid
Lifting the arms high while the chest barely moves, which fakes the feeling of a full backswing.
