Two-Point Hinge Checkpoint
Pause the takeaway at knee height and again at thigh height to check the wrist hinge is starting at the right moment.
- Duration
- 6 min

- Level

How to do it
Take slow-motion practice takeaways in front of a mirror or on video.
Pause when the clubhead reaches your trail knee - the wrists should still look flat.
Continue and pause again when your hands pass your trail thigh - the wrists should now be hinging.
Repeat until the two checkpoints happen without you consciously forcing either one.
Goal
Calibrate exactly when the wrists should begin to hinge in the takeaway.
Feel cue
Feel your wrists stay quiet until your hands pass your trail thigh, then let them hinge naturally.
Mistake to avoid
Forcing the hinge with the hands instead of letting the turning body create it.
