L-to-L Rehearsal
Make small rehearsal swings back and through only far enough for the trail arm to form an L shape, feeling the hinge arrive on time.
- Duration
- 5 min
- Reps
- 3 sets of 10
- Equipment
- none
- Level
- Intermediate
How to do it
Take a narrow stance with a mid-iron and grip down slightly for control.
Swing the club back only to hip height, letting the wrists hinge into an L shape with the trail arm.
Swing through to the same height on the follow-through, forming the mirror L with the lead arm.
Repeat, keeping the motion smooth rather than snapping the wrists.
Goal
Build the feel of the wrists hinging naturally once the hands pass the trail thigh, rather than staying flat.
Feel cue
Feel the club swing up into an L shape against your trail forearm, not drag flat along the ground.
Mistake to avoid
Keeping the arms and shoulders rigid so the club has to be lifted by hand at the end.
