Standing Distance Check
Use an alignment stick to measure and repeat the same standing distance from the ball at every address.

How to do it
Lay an alignment stick perpendicular to the target line at your standard ball position.
Set up so your body is the same distance from the ball each time, using the stick as a reference.
Remove the stick and hit a few shots, then recheck your distance against it.
Repeat before every practice session until the distance feels automatic.
Goal
Remove the variable of standing too close, which is a common cause of heel and hosel contact.
Feel cue
Feel the same gap between your body and the ball on every setup.
Mistake to avoid
Don't creep closer to the ball as you get tired — recheck the distance every few shots.
