How to do it
Hold the club out in front of you with your trail hand and open your lead hand flat.
Lay the handle diagonally across the base of your fingers, from the index knuckle to the pad below the little finger.
Close your fingers around it before your palm makes any contact.
Wrap your thumb down the side of the handle, not on top.
Let go and rebuild the grip 15 times from scratch.
Goal
Place the handle on the correct diagonal line in the fingers so the wrists are free to hinge.
Feel cue
Feel the handle running like a ramp from the base of your index finger down to the pad below your little finger.
Mistake to avoid
Closing the hand first and then trying to shuffle the club into place — once the hand is shut the handle slides straight back into the palm, so always set the line with the hand open.
