How to do it
Take your normal grip and squeeze the handle as hard as you can, a 10 out of 10.
Count down out loud, releasing pressure a step at a time: 8, 6, 4.
Stop at 4 and notice how soft your forearms feel there.
Make a slow half swing without letting the number climb back up.
Repeat for 3 sets of 5.
Goal
Calibrate what a light grip actually feels like so a 4-out-of-10 hold becomes the default.
Feel cue
Feel the tension drain out of your forearms as the numbers come down.
Mistake to avoid
Skipping the hard squeeze at the start — without the tight end of the scale you have nothing to compare to, and a 7 keeps feeling like a 4.
