Headcover Trail Elbow Drop
Pin a headcover under your trail armpit and keep it there until your hands reach waist height in the downswing.
- Duration
- 10 min
- Reps
- 20 balls
- Equipment
- headcover
- Level
- Intermediate
How to do it
Tuck a headcover under your trail armpit so it is lightly pinned.
Take your normal setup and swing to the top.
Start down by letting the trail elbow drop toward your trail hip, squeezing the headcover.
Keep it pinned until your hands reach waist height, then let it fall as you rotate through.
Hit 20 balls at about 75% effort.
Goal
Force the trail elbow to drop in front of the hip so the shaft shallows instead of steepening.
Feel cue
Feel the headcover squeeze tighter against your ribs as the club starts down.
Mistake to avoid
Trapping the arm so hard you can't turn through — the headcover should stay put through the first half of the downswing and then release as the body rotates.
