Lead-Leg Glute Bridge
Lie on your back and push your hips up using only your lead leg, holding the top position each rep.
- Duration
- 6 min
- Reps
- 3 sets of 8
- Equipment
- none
- Level
- Beginner
How to do it
Lie on your back with both knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
Lift your trail foot off the ground and extend that leg out straight.
Push through your lead heel to raise your hips until your body is in a straight line.
Hold for 5 seconds, feeling the work in the back of your lead hip, then lower slowly.
Do 3 sets of 8 on the lead leg.
Goal
Build the lead-side strength needed to accept and hold pressure instead of hanging back to avoid it.
Feel cue
Feel the muscle in the back of your lead hip doing the lifting, not your lower back.
Mistake to avoid
Pushing the hips so high that your lower back arches — stop at the point where your body makes a straight line, and stop entirely if your back complains.
