How to do it
Set up facing a mirror side-on so you can see the club at hip height.
Take the club back slowly and stop when your hands reach hip height.
Check that the toe of the club points up and the glove logo faces out in front of you.
If the logo has rolled down toward the ground, reset and turn your chest to take it back instead of using your hands.
Repeat for 3 sets of 10 takeaways.
Goal
Stop the face being rolled shut early, which is what forces the wrist to arch to hold it there at the top.
Feel cue
Feel the glove logo on the back of your lead hand still pointing out in front of you at hip height.
Mistake to avoid
Fixing the face by rolling the club open with your hands instead of letting the chest turn take it back — hand-rolled corrections swap one face problem for another.
