How to do it
Stand facing a mirror in your golf posture with your hands on your hips.
Turn to the top of your backswing and stop.
Move your lead hip toward the target first, keeping your belt buckle pointing at the ball.
Only then let the hips rotate open toward the mirror.
Repeat 10 slow reps in two clear beats, then try it in one smooth move.
Goal
Put the two halves of the transition back in the right order so the hips shift before they spin.
Feel cue
Feel your lead hip move a couple of inches toward the target while your belt buckle still points at the ball.
Mistake to avoid
Sliding the whole upper body toward the target along with the hip — the head and chest should stay where they are while only the hip moves.
