Tee Under the Trail Heel
Stand on a tee with your trail heel and keep it pinned there until the ball is gone.
- Duration
- 8 min
- Reps
- 20 balls
- Equipment
- tee
- Level
- Intermediate
How to do it
Lay a tee flat on the ground and stand on it with your trail heel.
Take your normal setup and address the ball.
Swing at about 75% effort, keeping the trail heel pressing the tee down.
Let the heel come up only after the club has passed the ball.
Hit 20 balls, checking the tee has not squirted out each time.
Goal
Take away the spinning trail foot that lets the hips fire open before pressure has moved forward.
Feel cue
Feel your trail heel stay heavy and pinned to the ground while your lead side moves first.
Mistake to avoid
Keeping the heel down all the way into the finish — it should stay down through impact and then release naturally, not stay glued for the whole swing.
