Towel Swing Tempo
Swing a rolled-up towel like a club and keep it stretched taut through the change of direction instead of letting it go slack.
- Duration
- 6 min
- Reps
- 3 sets of 10
- Equipment
- towel
- Level
- Intermediate
How to do it
Roll a hand towel lengthwise and hold one end with a normal golf grip.
Take your golf posture with enough clear space around you.
Swing the towel back and through, feeling for the tension in it.
If it flops or goes slack at the top, slow your change of direction until it stays stretched.
Do 3 sets of 10, then pick up a club and repeat the same tempo.
Goal
Use a floppy object as a tempo meter that collapses the instant you snatch at the transition.
Feel cue
Feel steady tension in the towel all the way through the change of direction, never a slack moment.
Mistake to avoid
Swinging the towel so gently it stays taut by accident — swing it hard enough that a rushed transition would genuinely make it flop.
