Ball Position Stick Grid
Lay one alignment stick along your toes and a second one across it at the center of your stance, and set every ball position off that cross.
- Duration
- 8 min
- Reps
- 20 balls
- Equipment
- alignment stick
- Level
- Intermediate
How to do it
Lay one alignment stick on the ground along your toe line.
Lay a second stick across it, pointing at the ball, marking the center of your stance.
For a mid iron, place the ball one ball-width forward of the crossing stick.
Build your stance to the sticks and hit a shot.
Hit 20 balls, checking the ball is still on the right mark before every swing.
Goal
Make ball position a measured thing instead of a guess that drifts over a session.
Feel cue
Feel the ball sitting just a touch forward of the cross rather than way out by your lead foot.
Mistake to avoid
Setting the cross at the center of the stance but then shuffling your feet as you settle — build the feet to the sticks, not the sticks to the feet.
