Flat Back Wall Check
Stand with your back against a wall, close the gap behind your lower back to about a hand's thickness, then hinge into your posture.

- 6 min
- Reps
- 3 sets of 8

- wall
- Level
- Intermediate
How to do it
Stand with your heels a few inches from a wall and your back against it.
Slide one flat hand into the gap behind your lower back.
Tuck your pelvis until your hand is lightly trapped, not crushed.
Holding that pelvis position, push your hips back and hinge into your golf posture.
Return to the wall and repeat for 3 sets of 8.
Goal
Use the wall to show the golfer exactly how much arch is in their lower back before they ever hinge over.
Feel cue
Feel your lower back come toward the wall and settle just off it, with your hand gently trapped.
Mistake to avoid
Pressing your whole back flat against the wall — a small natural curve is supposed to be there, and flattening it completely is as unhelpful as over-arching.
