Press your hands a couple of inches toward the target just before you start the club back, so the shaft is never leaning away.

How to do it
Take your normal setup with a mid iron.
Just before starting back, press your hands about two inches toward the target.
Let the clubhead stay where it is so the shaft leans slightly forward.
Start the takeaway directly from that pressed position.
Hit 20 shots using the press as your trigger every time.
Goal
Build a trigger that guarantees the hands lead the clubhead before the swing even starts.
Feel cue
Feel your hands nudge ahead of the ball a beat before the clubhead moves.
Mistake to avoid
Pressing so far forward that the clubface shuts and you deloft the club into a knife — two inches of hand movement is plenty.
