Hip Turn Against the Base
With your arms crossed on your chest, turn your hips back and through and feel your feet pressing against the ground to resist.

How to do it
Set your feet shoulder width apart and cross your arms over your chest.
Take your normal golf posture.
Turn your hips back, feeling your trail foot press into the ground.
Turn through to the target, feeling your lead foot press down in the same way.
Repeat for 3 sets of 10, then try it once with your feet close together to feel the difference.
Goal
Show the golfer what a stance that can actually be turned against feels like, compared with one that just tips over.
Feel cue
Feel your trail foot pushing down into the ground as your hips turn away from it.
Mistake to avoid
Turning your shoulders and calling it a hip turn — cross your arms so the shoulders cannot cheat and the hips have to do the work.
