Post-and-Turn Drill
Feel the lead leg straighten and firm up like a post the moment your weight arrives, then rotate around it.
- Duration
- 6 min
- Reps
- 3 sets of 10
- Equipment
- none
- Level
- Intermediate
How to do it
Take your address position and make a normal backswing.
As you start down, feel your weight arrive into the lead foot.
The instant it arrives, straighten the lead leg like you're pushing the ground away.
Let your rotation happen around that firm lead leg through the finish.
Repeat slowly for 10 reps before adding speed.
Goal
Give the body something solid to rotate against instead of continuing to slide.
Feel cue
Feel your lead leg push the ground away and lock like a post as you turn.
Mistake to avoid
Don't let the lead knee keep bending through impact — it should straighten, not collapse.
