How to do it
Set up with your feet noticeably wider than normal.
Turn your hips back and through and notice how blocked they feel.
Step your lead foot in one inch and test the hip turn again.
Keep stepping in an inch at a time until the hips turn freely.
Mark that width and rebuild it from scratch 3 times.
Goal
Let the golfer find their own correct width by feel rather than by a number.
Feel cue
Feel the moment your hips suddenly turn easily as your foot steps in.
Mistake to avoid
Stepping in with both feet at once and overshooting past your real width — move one foot, one inch, and test the turn each time.
