Trail Heel Release

Let your trail heel come off the ground and roll onto the toe through impact instead of staying planted and back.

Duration
5 min
Reps
3 sets of 10
Equipment
none
Level
Intermediate

How to do it

  1. Take your address position and make a normal backswing.

  2. As you start down, shift pressure toward the target and let the trail heel come up naturally.

  3. Check that the heel release happens by impact, not late in the follow-through.

  4. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 at half speed, then add full shots.

Goal

Confirm pressure has moved to the lead side by checking the trail heel releases naturally.

Feel cue

Feel your trail heel float up as your chest turns through.

Mistake to avoid

Don't force the heel up early — let it happen as a result of the pressure shift, not before it.
