How to do it
Grip the club using only the last two fingers of each hand.
Let the rest of your fingers rest on the handle without squeezing.
Make slow half swings, waist high to waist high.
Notice that the clubhead still swings on line with almost no grip pressure.
Repeat for 3 sets of 8, then add the other fingers back at the same light pressure.
Goal
Prove the club can be controlled with very little pressure so the hands stop over-squeezing.
Feel cue
Feel the clubhead's weight swinging on its own while your hands barely hold on.
Mistake to avoid
Swinging fast and clamping down the moment the club feels loose — stay at half speed so the light hold survives the whole swing.
